Application Guide for 2024 BIPT Programs for International Students
I. About BIPT
The Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) was founded in 1978, which was led by Beijing Municipality in 2000 other than Sinopec Group back then. BIPT is now well-equipped with education facilities. It has three campuses located in Qingyuan, Kangzhuang, and Yanshan respectively, covering an area of 76.77 acres with 296,000 square meters of construction space. The Institute is also home to 1.07 million physical books, 1.24 million digital books,nearly 60 databases as well as other teaching and research equipment worth 740 million yuan.
After 46 years of construction and development, BIPT has evolved into an established university featuring engineering practice. It takes engineering as its key discipline while exploring the inter-penetrating of disciplines among science, engineering, economics, management and arts. Running 11 departments, BIPT has 38 undergraduate majors, one post-doctoral research station, six first-level postgraduate disciplines consisting of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Environment Science and Engineering, Business Administration and seven professional postgraduate programs: Master of Auditing, Electronic and Information Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Chemical Engineering, Resources and Environmental Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, and Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering. At present, BIPT includes 9074 full-time students of which 7973 undergraduate students, 1098 postgraduate students and 802 teaching staff.
The Institute provides international students with various scholarships, such as Beijing Scholarship for International Students, BIPT’s Scholarship for Outstanding International Students and so on.

Notes:
I. During winter and summer holidays, students who need to stay at the institute should pay 40 yuan per day per bed for accommodation.
II. As required by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, foreign students who will stay in China for more than six months must purchase medical insurance in mainland China. And if they do not purchase the required medical insurance, the institute will not go through the register procedures. Moreover, when students have purchased the insurance, they should submit the copy of the insurance certificate or the policy to the Institute at the time of registration.

IV. Interviews (person in charge: Ms. Han, Teaching Management Office, 81292263)
First-year students should be interviewed by the department, which is usually scheduled in May or June. The time, place and way of interview will be decided by the department.
V. The Application Guide takes immediate effect and the final explanation of it is subject to School of International Education of BIPT.
